Earl Spencer to Marry Canadian Karen Gordon
Earl Spencer, Princess Diana's brother,
will marry Canadian Karen Gordon
at a private ceremony on June 18
at Spencer's Northamptonshire home.
We wish them every happiness.
Karen Gordon is a philanthropist and the founder and CEO of Whole Child International
http://www.wholechild.org/
Whole Child International works in existing children’s institutions to improve the quality of care and help prevent the bleak outcomes that await most children raised in the world’s orphanages.
As long as orphanages exist, we are committed to cost-effective interventions to help ensure the children within can develop the basic psychological tools they need to succeed in school, work, relationships, and families of their own.
"The beauty that emerges from woundedness is a beauty infused with feeling; a beauty different from the beauty of landscape and the cold perfect form. This is a beauty that has suffered its way through the ache of desolation until the words or music emerged to equal the hunger and desperation at its heart. It must also be said that not all woundedness succeeds in finding its way through to beauty of form. Most woundedness remains hidden, lost inside forgotten silence. Indeed, in every life there is some wound that continues to weep secretly, even after years of attempted healing. Where woundedness can be refined into beauty a wonderful transfiguration takes place. "

Just an American Preppy here awaiting your next post. Yes, we do read and enjoy your blog.
I have the SRH, but no the SR Diary. Is it worth reading to understand Sloanes better? Also, how do SRs feel about their American counterparts?
I must agree that True Prep is a failure, though certain points ring true, particularly about NY preppies. We abhor cellphones, but can't live without them these days.
Looking forward to learning more from you.

Thank you, HCC! Yes, do get the original Ann Barr SR book.
Some Preppies may really be Sloanes. In Britain we are grateful for our American cousins. Jennie Jerome, Winston Churchill's mother, was American - Nancy Lancaster, the creator of the country house style, was American - see Nancy Lancaster Her Life, Her World, Her Art, 1996. True Sloanes. And there are so many more.... Cheers!
